performing:group is an ensemble for dance, physical theatre and performance from Cologne. We work regionally and tour internationally.

We have been making pieces for young and adult audiences since 2012. Playfulness, ambiguity and sustainability are important to us.

In our pieces we rely on lightness, irony and sometimes silly humor, even when we deal with complex social issues. We always look for a non-verbal, humorous, physically precise and powerful sound that consciously allows for ambiguity.

Social coexistence is characterized by diversity and differences, misunderstandings are an unavoidable part of our everyday lives. It is therefore important to us to consciously allow ambiguity and confusion.

We design our pieces in such a way that they can have a wide reach with little logistical effort. That's why we always try to get the greatest possible impact from simple means.

Since 2013, we have been able to perform our work over 500 times in more than 20 countries and 12 languages worldwide.
